The purpose of this paper is to look at the stylistic devices used in the selected verses from Diwane-e-Ghalib and their translations at various stylistic levels. The study answers the question of how a translator translates the stylistic traits and devices contained in the ST into the TT, as well as what tactics he uses to deliver the message during the translation process. Using Alabi's (2007) stylistic model, the current article examines various stylistic devices at the levels of lexico-syntax, phonology, morphology, and graphology. The selected poems of Diwan-e-Ghalib and their translations by K.T. Mahmood are taken for analysis. The expressions in the ST that include specific stylistic devices are retrieved and assessed at these four levels of stylistic analysis. The method of analysis also employs Lefevere's (1975) "Seven Strategies of Translation" to assess the translation strategies used by the translator. The findings show that "interpretation" as a translation strategy is utilized most frequently to transmit all potential messages. The theoretical and methodological underpinnings of this research pave the way for future researchers to focus on other aspects of the text that have yet to be explored, such as the translation of culture-bound terminology, mystic components, and other textual peculiarities in Ghalib's poetry.
