AuthorsNADEEM AHMED AWAN, ABDUL LATIF, LAMIA SARMAD, KINZA NIAZ, ZAINAB SHOAIB and SARA TAJAMMUL
Abstract

Current study explores the relationship between empowering leadership and change-oriented organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) along with mediating role of psychological empowerment. The study is based on Self-determination theory as overarching theory. A cross-sectional survey involving 300 employees from both service and manufacturing sector was conducted. The findings support the proposed research model, indicating the positive impact of empowered leadership on change-oriented OCB. Additionally, the study confirms the mediating effect of psychological empowerment, suggesting that empowering leaders fosters psychological empowerment, enhancing change-oriented OCB among employees. These results underscore the importance of cultivating a positive and empowering work environment to motivate individuals toward proactive behaviors that contribute to organizational development.
Keywords: Empowering Leadership, Change-oriented OCB, Psychological Empowerment.
