The present study focuses on metaphorical expressions in the selected poems of the translated work of a Sufi poet Bullhey Shah. This research attempts to analyze metaphors that create problems for the translators in translating cultural sense in the English translation of Punjabi Sufi poetry. Poems have been translated by C.F Usborne and R.k Lajwanti. The poststructuralist approach provides the theoretical background for the present study. This approach states that meaning is relative in its nature and it varies from culture to culture. Metaphorical expressions are culturally specific in nature and pose a challenge for the translators in the transmission of meaning from one language to another language and lead to the issue of untranslatability. Findings of the research show that to overcome the issue of untranslatability, the translators use various strategies and ways during the process of translation and the transmission of the relative meaning from Punjabi Sufi poetry of Bullhey Shah to its English translation.
