Abstract
In this study, the relationship between imports and industrial production index, exchange rate and export/import coverage ratio are examined with the multiple regression analysis method using the monthly data from the 2005-2017 period in Turkey. The import equation of Turkey is estimated based on a model employing imports as the dependent variable. According to the results of this study, positive effects of industrial production index and export/import coverage ratio on imports are observed. Findings of the study support import-based growth in Turkey.
